Автор книги представил яркую картину того, как японцам удалось кардинальным образом трансформировать всю экономику острова и перенести «мэйдзийскую» модель модернизации в свою колонию.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>This review analyzes the monograph by a famous Japanese economist, professor of Takushoku University Toshio Watanabe, which focuses on the colonial history of Taiwan in the first half of the 20th century.
